2-10 Home Buyers Warranty
® (“2-10 HBW
®”) is pleased to announce the addition of a new insurance company to our New Home warranty program:
New Home Warranty Insurance Company, A Risk Retention Group, (NHWIC). Domiciled and licensed in the District of Columbia, NHWIC. is reinsured with Swiss RE, an “A-rated” international reinsurer. NHWIC will provide the same warranty insurance coverage for its members’ new homes as National Home Insurance Company, A Risk Retention Group (NHIC) and Residential Insurance Company, A Risk Retention Group, Inc., (RIC) provided for the past 24 years.
If you are a current member of 2-10 HBW you are required to become a member of the NHWIC by signing an Affirmation Agreement and a Stock Subscription Agreement. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!

To allow for uninterrupted enrollments, these agreements must be returned to us prior to your next home enrollment. When you enroll your first home after joining NHWIC, you will be issued one share of stock at no cost to you. 2-10 HBW will waive the fee stated in the Stock Subscription Agreement.
For all homes with an effective date of warranty before August 1, 2010, NHIC or RIC will continue to provide the warranty insurance. These two RRGs remain financially strong and active to handle warranty claims for the next ten years.
NHWIC will be the warranty insurer for all homes with an effective date of warranty on or after August 1, 2010.
Adding NHWIC as a warranty insurer for 2-10 HBW will not affect our enrollment processes and procedures. Homeowners will continue to receive a 2-10 HBW Certificate of Warranty Coverage and the underwriting criteria, risk management standards, and claims adjusting protocol will all remain the same.
