The first year that I bought my house, I needed to get a new central air unit. The previous owners had paid for my first year warranty which I used for the new central air unit. All I had to pay was a few hundred dollars and the central air unit was replaced. That would have cost me around $3,000. I have been renewing the warranty ever since.
