- 2-10 HBW will filter/process the reported defect, arrange and pay for the inspection, oversee dispute resolution, coordinate engineering and design services as needed and source the repair
- Includes homeowner communication and management
Grandfathering
Grandfathering is the process whereby recently completed homes can still be enrolled in the 2-10 HBW structural warranty program, even if the home was closed prior to becoming a 2-10 HBW builder member.
- Helps builders further plan for their future by controlling more of the liability that's behind them
- Applies to homes up to 3 years old (Homes 10 months past EDW are only eligible for structural only coverage)
- Grandfathering is subject to qualification and inspection
Flexible Warranty Term for Distribution Systems
Distribution systems coverage provides protection against defects to the means by which electrical, plumbing and mechanical functions are delivered throughout the home.
- 2 year (standard) or 1 year warranty term for distribution systems available
Flexible Warranty Term for Structural Coverage
Each state has different requirements for the length of time a builder is responsible for defects. This option provides the flexibility to enroll homes based on the state requirement.
- Regardless of the structural warranty term, structural coverage is insurance-backed (excluding BBSP), 10 Year insurance-backed coverage is standard and the requirement in most states
- Certificate of Warranty Coverage indicates the structural warranty term for the enrolled home
- State specific structural warranty term might result in a reduction of builder rate
Deductible/Shared Risk Options
Deductible/Shared Risk options provide flexibility for builders to realize a lower insurance rate by incorporating a deductible into their structural warranty program.
- A valuable tool to address the specific financial needs of an organization
- Most commonly come in the form of a 10K, 50K or 100K deductible per occurrence
- Deductible/Shared Risk options are subject to builder qualification
No Surety Coverage
Surety coverage is applicable when a builder is unable or unwilling to fulfill obligations related to the workmanship and distribution systems warranties. The warranty insurer would be responsible for the obligations related to the workmanship and distribution systems warranties.
- No surety coverage might result in a reduction of builder rate
- Warranty insurer would not be responsible for obligations related to the workmanship and distribution systems warranties
- No surety coverage is subject to qualification
