When the water hose just isn’t enough, take your window screens for a swim.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Kiddie Pool (think of it as a large bucket!)
- Dish Soap
- Soft Bristle Broom
Fill the kiddie pool with water and few squeezes of dish soap. Using your broom, swish the water around to create a foaming effect in the water.
Place screens in pool and let soak for a few minutes.
Once screen has been soaked, keeping it in the pool, brush the frame and screen back and forth using the broom. Repeat on both sides.
After cleaning both sides, take screen out and rinse with a hose to clean off any extra soap. Then, lay screens out to dry before putting back in windows.
For a weekly screen cleaning, use a vacuum cleaner by running the hose up and down very lightly. Be careful not to push too hard and cause stretching or damage.
