Warranty Coverage

Mobile Home Coverage

Mobile homes located on a permanent foundation are eligible for enrollment in the 2-10 HBW Structural Warranty program for Manufactured/Modular homes and for service under a 2-10 HBW Home Service Plan.

Systems and appliances located in park model RVs, fifth wheels, motor homes, travel trailers, and campers not on a permanent foundation are not eligible for coverage.

Types of Homes Covered

2-10 HBW provides coverage for any type of single-family detached or attached home (including condos and townhomes but excluding homes used for business purposes, like bed & breakfasts or fraternity/sorority houses) that is inside our service area and under 10,000 square feet.

Is Duct/Vent Cleaning Covered?

No. For tips on cleaning your dryer vent, check out our guide.

Additionally, the EPA recommends that you only have your ductwork cleaned under three conditions:

  1. There’s visible mold or mildew on your ducts.
  2. You notice vermin or insects living in your ducts.
  3. Your registers actively expel visible dust when on.

Will 2-10 Replace My Furnace?

If your home warranty (Home Service Plan) includes coverage for heating, it may be eligible for replacement if a repair is impossible. Refer to your Home Service Plan in your Homeowner Portal Account for details.

Coverage for Older Appliances

A home warranty (Home Service Plan) can cover older appliances, no matter their age. If the covered system or appliance is in working order when you purchase a 2-10 HBW Home Service Plan (i.e., doesn’t have a pre-existing problem), age doesn’t matter.

Coverage for New Appliances

We recommend a home warranty (Home Service Plan) even if your appliances are newer. A big reason is that once the manufacturer’s warranty expires, you’d need to purchase an extended warranty on each and every appliance. That can get expensive and hard to track.

A Home Service Plan can cover more appliances for less under one trusted roof, giving you more peace of mind.

Why Appliances Don’t Last

Many systems and appliances have become more complex for the sake of better efficiency. This complexity often means more moving parts, which means more potential things that can break down.

Buying or Selling a Home

A seller would offer a home warranty (Home Service Plan) to make their home more desirable to prospective buyers. A home with a Home Service Plan is more likely to sell quickly, as the Home Service Plan gives the buyer more confidence and peace of mind with their purchase.

Home Warranty vs. Homeowners Insurance

A home warranty (Home Service Plan) is an annual contract that can help reduce the costs to repair or replace covered systems and appliances that break down from normal wear and tear.

Homeowners insurance covers loss from incidents like fire, storms, or vandalism. The coverages provided by a Home Service Plan and homeowners insurance typically don’t overlap and often complement one another to provide comprehensive protection.
